Halo Blight of Mungbean in Australia

نویسندگان

چکیده

Halo blight, one of the major diseases mungbean, is caused by bacterium Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. phaseolicola. The pathogen infects foliar parts plant, causing water-soaked spots that eventually develop surrounding yellow margins. disease particularly destructive under moderate temperature and high humidity, especially when it occurs during late vegetative through to early reproductive stage. In such conditions, severely infected crops could experience a yield loss up 70%. blight can be widespread on mungbeans grown in Southern Queensland Northern New South Wales. However, due its seedborne cryptic nature transmission, likely under-reported. This report addresses aspects halo symptomology, pathology epidemiology.

Involvement of phaseolotoxin in halo blight of beans: transport and conversion to functional toxin.

Phaseolotoxin ([N(delta)-phosphosulfamyl]ornithylalanylhomoarginine) is produced by Pseudomonas phaseolicola (Burkh.) Dows. in liquid culture. When phaseolotoxin was applied to leaves of bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) at 0.1 to 1 nmoles/g fresh weight of leaf by a prick-assay procedure, the characteristic "halo" symptom of bean halo blight disease developed after 24 to 48 hours. At higher concent...

Genetic Characterization and Molecular Mapping Pse-2 Gene for Resistance to Halo Blight in Common Bean

Pseudomonas syringae pv. phaseolicola (Burkholder) Young et al. (Psp) causes halo blight, which is a serious bacterial disease of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). Several resistance (R) genes have been discovered in host differential cultivar ZAA 12. Our objectives were to further characterize and enable marker-assisted selection (MAS) of the Pse-2 gene in ZAA 12 purported to have broad eff...

Evaluation of Mungbean Genotypes Based on Yield Stability and Reaction to Mungbean Yellow Mosaic Virus Disease

This work was conducted to identify mungbean genotypes showing yield stability and resistance to mungbean yellow mosaic virus (MYMV) disease. Sixteen genotypes were evaluated in a randomized complete block design with two replications for two years (2011 and 2012) at three locations (Gazipur, Ishurdi and Madaripur) of the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute. An analysis of variance exhib...

Genome-wide DNA methylation profile in mungbean

DNA methylation on cytosine residues is known to affect gene expression and is potentially responsible for the phenotypic variations among different crop cultivars. Here, we present the whole-genome DNA methylation profiles and assess the potential effects of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) for two mungbean cultivars, Sunhwanogdu (VC1973A) and Kyunggijaerae#5 (V2984). By measuring the DN...
